    JOPPA and COCKEYSVILLE, MD – March 20, 2020 – Best Friends Fur Ever, the Baltimore region’s leading dog daycare and boarding service, announced today it is slashing its rates by 20 percent for workers on the frontlines of the fight against COVID-19.

    First responders, medical personnel, law enforcement, fire fighters, truck drivers, delivery personnel and grocery store workers will receive the discount at Best Friends Fur Ever’s two locations in Joppa and Cockeysville.

    “We are here for their dogs while they are there for everyone else,” said Kelly Cullum, Best Friends Fur Ever’s owner and CEO. “We want to do our part to be of maximum service in this crisis. We have a high number of medical and first responder clients and even before this crisis they were heroes to us.”

    Best Friends Fur Ever is offering extended drop offs and pick-ups to all clients and is open 24 hours a day year round, Cullum said.

    “We think this will be most helpful to doctors, nurses, ambulance drivers, EMTs and truckers whose hours are going to be more unpredictable than ever before,” Cullum said. “We know they are going to be pulling long shifts and if we can take some of the worry off of their shoulders we want to help.”

    Best Friends Fur Ever has two locations one in Cockeysville at 246 Cockeysville Road and a second in Joppa at 1009 Philadelphia Road. It offers daycare, lodging, training and grooming and specialize in special needs dogs (post-surgical, blind, wheelchairs, geriatric and mobility impaired.)

    The company employs about 100 people and has been voted the “Best Doggy Day Care” in Baltimore and Harford counties.

    On Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 8am-12pm. the Franciscan Center will be holding its bimonthly Food Distribution event. This event is when the Maryland Food Bank will drop off over 10, 000 pounds of produce to the center. Volunteers are needed to unload, sort, bag, and distribute produce to over 300 families in need. We have about 10 slots available. If your interested please email Angela Hall at volunteer@fcbmore.org.

    Visitor Center Associate Position is Monday – Friday, 12:00 – 3:30 PM.
    Associate will offer tours to walk-in visitors, assist with groups who book the site for day retreats or meetings, add historical facts and develop our internet presence, manage the gift shop, and oversee weekday tour operations. Ideal candidate has a passion for Catholic/ post-Colonial American history, is personable, and likes to speak in front of crowds.
