March 22 Meeting to feature speaker Marianne Bannister

Marianne Banister has spent more than 30 years as a television reporter and anchor. She began as a radio reporter at the age of 16, and was a stringer for CBS, ABC and the Associated Press by the age of 20. After graduating college with a double major in Broadcast Journalism and Speech Education, she took her first anchor/reporter position in television at KJCT TV in Grand Junction Colorado. That was followed by anchor/reporter positions at KRDO TV in Colorado Springs, KOVR TV in Sacramento,KMGH TV in Denver, KABC TV in Los Angeles and WBAL TV in Baltimore, and currently as weekend morning anchor at WBFF TV in Baltimore.  Marianne's anchor work has been honored with Emmys in both Los Angeles and Baltimore. Her reporting has been honored by the Associated Press, her writing awarded as Best in the West, and she has twice been named as Best News Anchor by Baltimore Magazine. She has reported live coverage of the O.J. Simpson Trial, Northridge Earthquake, Laguna Beach and Malibu Wildfires. She has covered stories on illicit drug treatments in Tijuana, Mexico and traveled to a remote region of Russia as a part of Doctor's Without Borders documentary.

Marianne serves on the Executive Committee of Capital Campaign Fund for the Archdiocese of Baltimore. She also serves with Pathfinders for Autism and as a fundraiser with Notre Dame Preparatory School.
