Tyler Tate to Receive CBNB's 2015 Catholic Business Leadership Award

President of Lewis Contractors Recognized for Restoration of America’s First Basilica; Service and Leadership for Archdiocesan Annual Gala.


BALTIMORE, MD, March 17, 2015 – The Catholic Business Network of Baltimore (CBNB) has announced that Tyler Tate, P.E., LEED AP, President of Owings Mills-based Lewis Contractors, is the 2015 recipient of the annual Catholic Business Leadership Award. 


Mr. Tate holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in civil engineering from Lehigh University. He joined Lewis Contractors in 2007 as Project Manager and quickly ascended through the ranks into the roles of Vice President in 2011, and President in 2013. The firm is best known for its award-winning work within Baltimore’s Catholic community, including the original restoration of the Baltimore Basilica as well as its earthquake repairs in 2013. 


In addition to the company’s community outreach efforts, Tate serves on the Annual Gala Executive Committee for the Archdiocese of Baltimore, the Board of Directors for Preservation Maryland, the Board of Trustees for Baltimore Clayworks, and in the Connect Partnership Program Committee at the Community College of Baltimore County.


“Tyler Tate is a wonderful example of the type of behind-the-scenes leadership and service that is greatly needed in support of our Catholic community, and we are honored to join the Archdiocese in recognizing his efforts," said Mark Fitz-Patrick, CBNB's president. 


The award will be presented at the Catholic Business Network’s Fourth Annual Dinner to be held on Thursday, April 16th at Martin’s Valley Mansion in Hunt Valley, MD. The event will be hosted by WMAR-TV’s Jamie Costello and feature keynote speaker Fr. Leo Patalinghug, founder of “Grace Before Meals” and host of ETWN’s “Savoring Our Faith.”
