CBNB Honors Dr. Ellen Yankellow With 2017 Catholic Business Leadership Award

Fifth-Annual Award Recognizes Leaders Exemplifying Faith in Business

Dr. Ellen Yankellow, 2017 CBNB Catholic Business Leadership Award Recipient

HUNT VALLEY, MD (April 18, 2017) – The Catholic Business Network of Baltimore (CBNB) has announced that Dr. Ellen H. Yankellow, President & CEO of Correct Rx Pharmacy Services, Inc. is the recipient of the 2017 CBNB Catholic Business Leadership Award.

Dr. Yankellow, regarded as one of the leading women pharmacists in the country and an expert in institutional and geriatric pharmacy, founded Correct Rx after a long career as a top executive in the pharmacy services industry. Correct Rx has grown to become a national leader in institutional pharmacy services, currently serving over 195 correctional facilities throughout the United States.

Dr. Yankellow’s success is reflected in her commitment and support of area philanthropic causes. She serves on the boards of numerous religious, nonprofit and community organizations including St. Mary’s Seminary and University, Catholic Community Foundation Board of Trustees, the Maryland Board of Pharmacy, University of Maryland-School of Pharmacy Board of Visitors, the University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation, Inc., the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, and The Carter Center Board of Trustees, among others.  A member of the Catholic Community of St. Francis Xavier in Hunt Valley, she served as co-chair of the 2016 Archbishop’s Annual Appeal along with her husband, William Chapman.

Dr. Yankellow has also been recognized with numerous awards, among them the Bowl of Hygeia Award, considered one of the pharmaceutical profession’s most prestigious awards, the Alzheimer’s Association Exemplary Leadership Award, and the Children’s Guild’s 2015 Sadie Award.

Created in 2014, past-recipients of CBNB’s Catholic Business Leadership Award include Michael MacDonald, executive chairman of the board of Medifast, Tyler Tate, president of Lewis Contractors, and the Hon. Francis X Kelly, Jr., former Maryland senator and chairman and co-founder of Kelly & Associates.  The 2017 award will be presented at CBNB’s Business Leadership Breakfast to be held on Friday, July 28, 2017, beginning at 7.30 AM at the Radisson Hotel North in Timonium, Maryland.
